Afrimines Joint Venture
In May 2008 Tiger secured rights to explore more new and highly prospective tenements in the Katangan Province.
The Company will earn a 60% interest in a group of four exploration permits covering approximately 165 square kilometres.
The tenements are all located within approximately 50 kilometres of the regional capital and the DRC’s second largest city, Lubumbashi, and lie on structures hosting known major copper deposits. All the properties are easily accessible by road.
The properties continue Tiger's corporate strategy of focussing on discovery and development of significant high grade oxide copper/cobalt deposits hosted in the highly mineralised “Roan Sequence” of the world renowned Africa Copper Belt in the DRC.
Tiger intends to start the immediate exploration of the permits using airborne geophysics, detailed soil sampling and air core drilling to identify areas with potential to host significant sediment hosted copper/cobalt deposits.
